How to Sell Your Samsung Phone in Kenya (2026 Prices)

Samsung covers more ground than any other brand in Kenya. A Galaxy A10s changes hands for about 6,000 shillings. A Galaxy Z Fold6 in good condition still clears 150,000. Advice that works for one is useless for the other, so this guide splits by line.

What your Galaxy is worth in 2026

These are typical prices for a fully working phone in good condition, on the base storage tier. Higher storage adds roughly 10,000 to 20,000 on flagships.

The lock that ruins most Samsung sales

You hand over the phone, the buyer factory resets it, and the setup screen asks for your Samsung account password. The phone is now a brick in their hands, and you have a furious buyer and no sale.

This happens because Find My Mobile leaves reactivation lock switched on. Turn it off before you reset anything:

1. Settings, then your name at the top, then Samsung account.
2. Find My Mobile, and switch it off.
3. Remove the Samsung account from the phone.
4. Remove your Google account the same way.
5. Only then, factory reset.

Do this while the phone still has your SIM in it. Recovering an account after you have wiped the device takes days, and buyers rarely wait.

Knox, and why rooted phones sell for less

Samsung burns a one-way counter called Knox when anyone roots the phone or flashes custom firmware. It never resets, and flashing back to stock does not clear it. Samsung Pay and Secure Folder stop working for good, and warranty repairs get refused.

Buyers who know what they are looking at will check, and they will pay less when they find it. Say so in your listing if it applies to you. A rooted Galaxy still sells; a rooted Galaxy sold as clean comes back.

Which Galaxy lines hold their money

The S and Z lines lose value slowly. An S23 launched around 74,000 and still fetches close to 50,000, so roughly two thirds of the money survives three years.

The A line falls harder. An A06 sold new at about 13,500 and now sits near 9,000, which is a third gone in a year. If you own an A-series phone and you plan to upgrade next year, sell it this year instead.

Folds and Flips get inspected harder than anything else. Buyers open and close the hinge, then tilt the inner screen to the light to read the crease. If your hinge still snaps shut cleanly and the inner display has no dead pixels along the fold, photograph both and say so. That single detail moves a Fold price by 20,000.
