Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 June 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Mzuri (mzuri.co.ke), an online marketplace that lets people in Kenya list and discover mobile phones and tablets for sale. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Mzuri.
1. What Mzuri is
Mzuri is a listing and discovery platform only. We connect buyers and sellers, but we do not buy, sell, own, inspect, ship, or store any device. We do not process payments and we do not hold money on anyone's behalf. Every transaction happens directly between the buyer and the seller, and Mzuri is not a party to it.
2. Free listings
Posting a listing on Mzuri is free. There are no listing fees and no commissions on sales. Each listing automatically expires 30 days after it is posted. You may edit, mark as sold, or delete your listings at any time from your profile.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use Mzuri. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us at support@mzuri.co.ke if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Prohibited items and conduct
You may not list, offer, or attempt to sell any of the following:
- Stolen, lost, or blacklisted devices, or devices with tampered or removed IMEI numbers.
- Counterfeit, cloned, or fake devices misrepresented as genuine.
- Devices you do not own or are not authorised to sell.
- Anything illegal under the laws of Kenya, or items other than phones and tablets.
You also agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings, prices, or photos.
- Harass, threaten, scam, or spam other users.
- Use the platform to facilitate any unlawful activity.
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape, or interfere with the platform or other users.
5. Your responsibilities as a user
Buyers and sellers are solely responsible for verifying each other, inspecting and testing devices, agreeing prices, and completing payment safely. We strongly encourage you to read our safety tips before meeting anyone. You alone decide whether to proceed with a transaction.
6. Moderation and reporting
Anyone can report a listing that appears to be a scam, breaks these terms, or contains prohibited items. Our team reviews reports and may remove listings or suspend accounts. We may also remove content or take action at our discretion to keep the marketplace safe, though we do not pre-screen every listing.
7. No warranty and limitation of liability
Mzuri is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing, nor the conduct of any buyer or seller. Because we are not a party to transactions, we are not liable for any loss, damage, fraud, or dispute arising from a transaction or from your use of the platform, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, and remove your listings, if you breach these terms, abuse the platform, or engage in fraudulent or harmful behaviour. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@mzuri.co.ke.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Mzuri after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute relating to them or to your use of Mzuri is subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
